On Sundays the central park is always full of young people who meet for picnics under the shady trees. For the more active, there are opportunities to play golf or tennis. Those who enjoy water-sports can go fishing or swimming. You will probably want to hire a yacht or motor cruiser for the day to reach the best locations.

If you want to venture further afield you might hire a car and take of to see the sleepy villages in the North Carolina countryside, or drive to the coast to while away the afternoon in one of the many secluded areas along the coastline.

Resolved Question: What do you think of the story that Obama has been linked to a campaign staffer named Vera?

This can't be good. I knew something was up when Obama and the wife had a weekend together holed up in some swanky hotel in North Carolina. But then Obama ended up hanging with Billy Graham, and playing golf. Looks like a rough road ahead in the Obama household...

Resolved Question: 2 Citations (NC) (marijuana possesion and alcohol)?

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina Age: 17 Education: High School (12th) Charges: - G.S. 90-113.22(a) "Knowingly (use) and drug paraphernalia to (plant) (propagate) (cultivate) (grow) (harvest) (manufacture) (compound) (convert) (produce) a controlled substance which it would be unlawful to possess , and to ingest, inhale, or otherwise introduce into the body a controlled substance which it would be unlawful to possess." - G.S. 20 -138.7(a) 1 "Possess open container of malt beverage in the passenger area of motor vehicle" - G.S. 18B-302(b) "Being (less than 21) years old (attempt to purchase) (purchase) (possess) (malt beverage) (unfortified wine) (fortified wine) (spirituous liquor) (mixed beverage) - G.S. 90-95 (a) "Possess less then 1/2 ounce of marijuana, a scit VI controlled substance. Above I have listed the charges followed by the explanation that was already printed on the citation or written in by the officer. It was a Saturday night and I was headed to a friends 18th birthday. I pulled into a local gas station to purchase a dutch around 9:00 pm. I got back into my truck and pulled over to the side parking lot and began "rolling up my blunt" it was only seconds later when an undercover cruiser pulled up beside me. A lady and guy officer jumped out of the car with flashlights pointing all inside of my truck. In the center console I had about .5 grams of marijuana, two bottles of corona (one opened the other unopened) and the cigar itself and a knife I had used to cut the cigar. I dropped everything and put my hands on the steering wheel. They asked me the usually. To make a long story short, I was personally searched along with my truck. I was very cooperative followed with mam and sir. BACKGROUND: I was in some trouble in VA as I just recently moved to NC last year in June. All of my charges were dismissed after satisfactory performance while I was on probation and complied with all orders requested by the court. I was 16 at the time. I am currently a senior at the local high school and my grades are all B's in honors courses, I have my own lawn care service with about 13 customers, I played football and golf this year. Basically to sum it up, I don't think I'm a horrible child, I just have made some STUPID mistakes. My main concerns are if my earlier charges that were dismissed will come back up during this situation. Please any advice is greatly appreciated, I will be consulting with an attorney later next week. It would just be helpful to be informed on this situation before hand. Again thank you in advance for any advice.

Resolved Question: Wanna hear some great jokes? Have a hoot at these jokes~!!?

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THE SOUTH????? Tennessee The owner of a golf course was confused about paying an invoice, so he decided to ask his secretary for some mathematical help. He called her into his office and said, 'You graduated from the University of Tennessee and I need some help. If I were to give you $20,000, minus 14%, how much would you take off?' The secretary thought a moment, and then replied, 'Everything but my earrings.' Alabama A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck. 'Where's Henry?' the others asked. 'Henry had a stroke of some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail,' the successful hunter replied. 'You left Henry laying out there and carried the deer back?' they inquired. 'A tough call,' nodded the hunter. 'But I figured no one is going to steal Henry!' Texas The Sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his pick-up into the ditch. The Sheriff asked, 'Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch? Don' t you see that sign right over your head'. 'Yep', he replied. 'That's why I dumpin it here, cause it says 'Fine For Dumping Garbage'. Louisiana A senior at LSU was overheard saying... 'When the end of the world comes, I hope to be in Louisiana .' When asked why, he replied he'd rather be in Louisiana because everything happens in Louisiana 20 years later than in the rest of the civilized world. Mississippi The young man from Mississippi came running into the store and said to his buddy, 'Bubba, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!' Bubba replied, 'Did you see who it was?' The young man answered, 'I couldn't tell, but I got his license number.' Georgia A Georgia State trooper pulled over a pickup on I- 75. The trooper asked, 'Got any I.D.?' The driver replied, 'Bout whut?' North Carolina A man in North Carolina had a flat tire, pulled off on the side of the road, and proceeded to put a bouquet of flowers in front of t he car and one behind it. Then he got back in the car to wait. A passerby studied the scene as he drove by and was so curious he turned around and went back. He asked the fellow what the problem was.. The man replied, 'I have a flat tire.' The passerby asked, 'But what's with the flowers?' The man responded, 'When you break down they tell you to put flares in the front and flares in the back. Resolved Question: is this quote from a book? or where is it from?

i read this on a website and I was wondering if it's from a book? "i read somewhere that if you think you're going to cry, you can recite the color of things to make it stop. green tree. red windmill. blue sky. blue jeans. blue eyes. i wanted to tell him. i wanted to tell him all of it, but that was crazy, wasn't it? i mean, i just met him. so what did i do? i asked him to tell me something. the amazing thing was that he did and when he looked at me, i felt not the rush of yesterday, when it seemed like the whole world was awake and alive and singing, but something else. something big and profound and bottomless. something that answered another question, one that i wasn't even aware that i had asked. standing there next to an overgrown mini-golf course in the middle of the woods in North Carolina, i heard an answer. and that answer was yes."

Resolved Question: What part of North Carolina should I move to?

I currently live in Upstate NY (in a very suburban area) and I plan on moving about April 2009. I have family that lives in Charlotte, and I'd like to live within 2-3 hours from them, but I want to live near (no more than 30 minutes away from) a beach. I want warm summers and springs, gorgeous falls, and mild snow in winter. I have a 16 year old daughter and she's very artsy, so I'd like to live in an area where she could utilize that. I have another child on the way, so I'll need a good school for the both of them, as well as a safe neighborhood. I'm a nurse, so I'll need to live in an area with a major hospital. My parents will move with us, and I'll need a duplex or a house with an in-law apartment for them. My dad enjoys golfing (perhaps he could join a country club?) and my mom would need to live within 10 minutes of retail stores. Animals are extremely important to me; I rescue them and I have a lot of my own. I'll definitely need a good veterinary hospital (I currently live near one of the best that NY has) and a very animal-friendly community. I'd like to spend no more than $250,000 on a house, but I'm not sure what I could get for that. I'm not aware if these things are unrealistic, but I would appreciate some advice!
