Welcome to Golfwithall

Brevard is one of the top tourist destinations of North Carolina. It is a city full of history and at the same time enjoys a modern cosmopolitan atmosphere. The old town has some of the finest historical architecture, in contrast with the gleaming modern structures in the new town.

You can get there by flying on a North Carolina Airline which offer budget flights daily to a nearby airport. Alternatively you can take a train or Greyhound bus from a number of other destinations.

You can stay in one of Brevard's many elegant resort hotels, or for the budget traveler, the city offers a number of inns and motels. If you are staying longer, you might consider renting a holiday condo or apartment.

When you are in Brevard you can simply enjoy the sun, or there are a number of other opportunities for sightseeing - a visit to the city's museums and galleries is always worthwhile. Alternatively you could explore the narrow streets of the old town on foot, shopping for souvenirs in the many charming designer boutiques. On Sundays the central park is always full of young people who meet for picnics under the shady trees. For the more active, there are opportunities to play golf or tennis. Those who enjoy water-sports can go fishing or swimming. You will probably want to hire a yacht or motor cruiser for the day to reach the best locations.

Getting around Brevard couldn't be more easy. The city is well served by taxicabs and a modern bus network. If you want to venture further afield you might hire a car and take of to see the sleepy villages in the North Carolina countryside, or drive to the coast to while away the afternoon in one of the many secluded areas along the coastline.

Brevard comes to life in the evening. The city has dozens of excellent bistros, delis, and restaurants, and there are many lively bars and clubs to while away the night into the early hours of the morning.

Whatever your interest, Brevard, North Carolina, has something unique to offer.

Prize Money Suppose the chamber of commerce in pinehurst, North Carolina decided to hold a professional golf tournament at the famous Pinehurst Country Club. they would probably be able to get a TV contract from a major network. The TV revenue would be about $4 million, and they would sell 60,000 tickets at $8 a piece. The fund for prizes would be 20% of their total revenue (TV plus tickets) rounded to the nearest $10000. The Prizes would be as follows (all prizes are rounded to the nearest dollar): First prize: 18% of the total prize money Second Prize: 60% of the first prize third prize 65% of the second prize fourth prize: 70% of the third prize Fifth prize: 75% of the fourth prize Sixth prize: 6% of the remaining prize money seventh prize: $900 less than the sixth prize eighth prize: $900 less than seventh prize And so on, with each subsequent prize $900 less than the previous prize. Resolved Question: Is Kitty Hawk a good family vacation destination?

My family (4 adults & 3 kids- ages 15, 11, 11) plan on taking a trip to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina at the end of June. We're renting a beach house, but we hardly know anything about the area! I would like to hear some feedback about the area. -Is there a lot to do? Like miniature golf and shopping? -Is there a lot of restaurants near by? -Would this make a fun AND relaxing family vacation? Thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: Don't you all just love the south?

Tennessee The owner of a golf course was confused about paying an invoice, so he decided to ask his secretary for some mathematical help. He called her into his office and said, 'You graduated from the University of Tennessee and I need some help. If I were to give you $20,000 minus 14%, how much would you take off?' The secretary thought a moment, and then replied, 'Everything but my earrings.' Alabama A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck. 'Where's Henry?' the others asked. 'Henry had a stroke of some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail,' the successful hunter replied. 'You left Henry laying out there and carried the deer back?' they inquired. 'A tough call,' nodded the hunter. 'But I figured no one is going to steal Henry!' Texas The Sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his pick-up into the ditch. The Sheriff asked, 'Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch? Don't you see that sign right over your head'. 'Yep', he replied. 'That's why I dumpin it here, cause it says 'Fine For Dumping Garbage'. Louisiana A senior at LSU was overheard saying... 'When the end of the world comes, I hope to be in Louisiana.' When asked why, he replied he'd rather be in Louisiana because everything happens in Louisiana 20 years later than in the rest of the civilized world.. Mississippi The young man from Mississippi came running into the store and said to his buddy, 'Bubba, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!' Bubba replied, 'Did you see who it was?' The young man answered, 'I couldn't tell, but I got his license number.' Georgia A Georgia State trooper pulled over a pickup on I- 75. The trooper asked, 'Got any I.D.?' The driver replied, 'Bout whut?' North Carolina A man in North Carolina had a flat tire, pulled off on the side of the road, and proceeded to put a bouquet of flowers in front of the car and one behind it. Then he got back in the car to wait. A passerby studied the scene as he drove by and was so curious he turned around and went back. He asked the fellow what the problem was.. The man replied, 'I have a flat tire.' The passerby asked, 'But what's with the flowers?' The man responded, 'When you break down they tell you to put flares in the front and flares in the back. Hey, it don't make no sense to me neither.' And this from South Carolina 'You can say what you want about the South, but I ain't never heard of anyone wanting to retire to the North

Resolved Question: is this quote from a book? or where is it from?

i read this on a website and I was wondering if it's from a book? "i read somewhere that if you think you're going to cry, you can recite the color of things to make it stop. green tree. red windmill. blue sky. blue jeans. blue eyes. i wanted to tell him. i wanted to tell him all of it, but that was crazy, wasn't it? i mean, i just met him. so what did i do? i asked him to tell me something. the amazing thing was that he did and when he looked at me, i felt not the rush of yesterday, when it seemed like the whole world was awake and alive and singing, but something else. something big and profound and bottomless. something that answered another question, one that i wasn't even aware that i had asked. standing there next to an overgrown mini-golf course in the middle of the woods in North Carolina, i heard an answer. and that answer was yes."

Resolved Question: What part of North Carolina should I move to?

I currently live in Upstate NY (in a very suburban area) and I plan on moving about April 2009. I have family that lives in Charlotte, and I'd like to live within 2-3 hours from them, but I want to live near (no more than 30 minutes away from) a beach. I want warm summers and springs, gorgeous falls, and mild snow in winter. I have a 16 year old daughter and she's very artsy, so I'd like to live in an area where she could utilize that. I have another child on the way, so I'll need a good school for the both of them, as well as a safe neighborhood. I'm a nurse, so I'll need to live in an area with a major hospital. My parents will move with us, and I'll need a duplex or a house with an in-law apartment for them. My dad enjoys golfing (perhaps he could join a country club?) and my mom would need to live within 10 minutes of retail stores. Animals are extremely important to me; I rescue them and I have a lot of my own. I'll definitely need a good veterinary hospital (I currently live near one of the best that NY has) and a very animal-friendly community. I'd like to spend no more than $250,000 on a house, but I'm not sure what I could get for that. I'm not aware if these things are unrealistic, but I would appreciate some advice!

Are there any friendly golf leagues in the area to join to help work on your game and build comraderie and friendships were other golfers. I am not looking for a competetive league or mini-tour or anything like that, just a time to get together with other golfers and have fun in a league type atmosphere?
