Resolved Question: How crazy would I have to be to drive to Belize?

You're probably not going to change my mind, I'm just looking into how nutty this is perceived to be. I've had this idea for some time now. I have in-laws who've done it from CA, but people have told me how dangerous it would be. I've driven my car in three different countries and I want to make Belize my fourth. What I want to do is start out up in Vancouver, BC and drive all the way down the Pacific coast, through San Diego, and Tijuana then across Mex Hwy 2, then down to the Yucatan then to Belmopan in Belize in a VW Golf. Any alternate route suggestions? After this, perhaps, Alaska to Panama (distant future).

I read so much about forgiveness. I tried and thought I could have and now realize I never will. After years of trying to lie about the terrible things my dad allowed to be done to me his only daughter and child by his 2nd wife. I realize he is a coward and he would tell me to do as Gen said to protect him and make his life easier. I had no way to grasp this and as all children thought it was my duty to protect him and if I took abuse he would be happy. Little children do not have the tools to function in an adult world. I would be bruised, beat up hair pulled out of scalp. He witnessed and heard sexually abuse and when I tried crying to him he would say"Do as Gen tells you. Gen is the boss and she knows what is best". After this he would either go back to sleep or leave the house. In my teens I adored my dad and would lie to others about how much he loved me and the things we shared. In my 20's I took risky jobs hoping he would notice my bravery. When I had children he barely noticed. When he was sick and in Rochester Mayo Clinic for 6 weeks I dropped everything and stayed by his side and helped his 3rd wife cope. She wanted to unplug him and I fought for him. It is now 16 years later and he plays golf and enjoys life. Ten years ago my boys were killed in a job accident. My dad went on a cruise to Alaska. I now live 200 miles from him and have seen him once in 8 years. I no longer lie about the person I wanted him to be. I do not love him and wish he knew and could suffer the suffering I did. I want him to admit the sickness he allowed to be done to his small girl from ages 5-14. Those were the years with his 2nd wife after my mom died in a car accident when I was 13 months old. My childhood was hell and it comes back in my brain at night when I try to sleep. I am haunted by the fear and all the wrong he allowed done to me. He kept telling me to be strong for him and that is why he loves me, I can take abuse and be strong. If he died I would not go to his funeral. Or go to his funeral and tell everyone what he really was. THis is easier to deal with when you are young because you get caught up in life and put it on the back burner. But as you age little things start emerging and it becomes more difficult to ignore. Any advice or questions. Never put this out there like this before. So Maybe I can find a sister who has had an evil and lazy dad too.

Look, before Tiger, no one knew about golf,even people like Jack and Palmer were just club players to tell the truth. Tiger is golf and when he plays people would rather gain weight watching him play. That is how intense he is. So those of you out there who think like they are angles, get a life and move to Alaska hungout with Sara Palin.

I'd have to say Golf, Fishing, and Poker. Golf, I've golfed a few times and found it relaxing and very enjoyable, but I cannot watch it on TV. Fishing, I grew up fishing in Minnesota, loved it, lived in Alaska for 5 years, lots of deep sea fishing, love to fish. But it is so boring to watch it on TV. Poker, I've played my share of cards and Poker. But I cannot watch it on TV. Just my opinion.

I will only be there a day and a half in June. I would like to take a whale-watching cruise and possibly some other nature sightseeing tour. But any suggestions are welcome!
